Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Spiral-bound gold paper-covered boards. Oblong folio. Illustrated with 13 pages of descriptive text by Ludwig Glaeser and 31 plates on 27 leaves. Each of the drawings in this book represent projects that for one reason or another were never constructed, and so for those interested in the full range of Mies's architectural concepts, the book serves as a necessary supplement to those that are based largely on his built projects. The 31 drawings range from rough fountain pen sketches to hard-line studio drawings .The projects depicted include the Friedrichstrasse Office Building and the Glass Skyscraper, both dated 1921; the Concrete Office Building (1922); a Museum for a Small City (1942); a Concert Hall (1942) and more. A very good copy with some rubbing and soiling to the covers and light edgewear. The spiral binding is very good and firm. The contents are very good with some minor soiling and wear. Foreign postage will be extra and expensive on this oversize book.

Hardcover. Elephant folio (24.5" X 18").Heavy gold card stock with black lettering in metal spiral binding. (Ca. 75pp (all heavy stock). Numerous full-page illustrations (some color). Very good. Mildest of wear and couple scuffs to outer wrappers (only), else internally near fine. Ludwig Glaeser provides the introduction and notes to this handsome first edition, a generous assortment of floor plans and architectural renderings from the renowned German-American modernist architect (1886-1969). Interestingly, upper right of title page bears a 2006 gift inscription to an architect "from Taylor (via Deever Rockwell)" -- Taylor being the son of Harry P. "Deever" Rockwell (1926-2014), a noted Illinois architect who trained under Mies Van Der Rohe and worked in his offices and from whose collection this very copy hailed. A lovely copy of a scarce title and with interesting connection to the subject himself.
